I am going with this format so that it will be easier for people to give us feedback..This will definitely be a work in progress..I spent 3 hours last night playing with wordpress only to destroy everything I did by the end..Can we say frustrating? I am just putting in my last post from the old homepage. I will be working on this over the next few days.

I am in my final weeks of training for Ironman, so I am really picking it up. Yesterday the
weather broke and gave me a wonderful opportunity to get outside and really see how I felt
pushing some big gears. I decided that I would stay in Ridgefield and do the race loop so
that I could leave a lot of fluids and GU at Martin Park and stop there periodically to refuel.
After 4 race pace laps, I can say that the course is awesome. We are all very lucky to have
a race like this in our town. If I were you I would get out on it now and start learning the
different sections.. You can really test out a lot of different angles..ie: shifting, big ring,
small ring…really helps to know beforehand if you can make it up that hill without using all
your energy, heartrate..even the small rollers on the course really mess with it..especially
on the beginning of the course, nutrition..what do you really need to get you through the
run after a hard bike..etc,etc. We may have taken goodwill hill out this year, but let me tell
you..the run loop this year isn’t a walk in the park..Get out there and run it after you bike
the course..you will see
And last but not least..Some of you may have seen me out there
in full race gear yesterday..yeah yeah..I looked like a fool…there was a reason. You need
to know on race day that the clothes you are wearing aren’t going to slice you up like razor
blades..that can really ruin your day..The saying goes: “Nothing new on race day”
There will be one spot on the bike that is a mandatory slow down point..we will be enforcing
it with a 2 min penalty..It will be located right before Limekiln meets Haviland. As for Pope’s
Corner on Ridgebury Rd…Please use common sense, if you see 3 signs saying slow down,
and volunteers asking you to slow it down there is probably a reason for it.
Anyway, get out there..less than 12 weeks to race day.

The last thing Ridgefield needs on a sunday morning when people should be in Church is this event. Lets hope it does not disrupt the Town too much. How about publishing a route map sdo that those of us going somewhere know what route to take.
Thanks for your input…here is the link to the page that has the course maps. The roads in your neighborhood will not be closed and there will be police and volunteers directing traffic.
