Welcome to TriRidgefield
Administrator May 15th, 2008
Welcome to TriRidgefield everyone. With just over two weeks left until the race event we are very busy finalizing all the details with the goal of making this a fantastic, safe and fun race. The race has been sold out since January and we look forward to a strong field of experienced and beginner triathletes. Hopefully you are all feeling strong and confident from all your months of hard work.
Here are a few details that you’ll need to get you through race day.
Parking
Parking is available at Pond’s Edge Professional Park, 901 Ethan Allen Hwy (approximately .25 miles from the intersection with Picketts Ridge Road). Racers and Spectators are not permitted to park at Martin Park this year.
Registration
The race will start promptly at 7 am and packet pick-up and the transition area will be open at 5:00 (bring a photo id). All race participants must be a member of USAT for course sanctioning. If you are not a member then you must pay $10 on race day for a one-day membership. Current USAT members are asked to bring their USAT license. Do not forget to bring your ID and $10 to registration that morning - no exceptions! We will also be holding packet pickup on Sat May 31 from 2-4 pm at Martin Park.
Transition Area
The transition area will not be available until you have picked up your race number and volunteers have written your number on your arms and legs. Please note that here is a single exit and entrance to the transition area. The transition area will be monitored by volunteers and the Ridgefield Police department throughout the race and until you pick up your belongings. Poland Spring Water and HEED will be present at the transition during the race.
Race Number and Chip
We will be using Champion Chip timing by Platt Tiiming and will provide you with a chip. We will be providing ankle straps to hold race chips to all participants. Chips must be worn on your ankle at all times during the race, no exceptions.
Swim
The swim will start in 6 waves based on age and gender. All participants are required to wear the swim cap that we will provide in your race packet. We highly recommend you rent/buy a wet suit.
Bike
Please follow all USAT biking rules (no drafting/blocking, helmets required) and marshals will be monitoring the course. No iPods or other music players are allowed on the race course (bike or run) at any time.
Run
There will be aid stations in transition, at mile one, and mile two. They will be stocked with Poland Spring water, Hammer HEED, and gels.
Finish Line
There will be a post-race party with breakfast served by Collyer Catering. Age group awards and gift baskets for the top three male and female finishers will be given out after the last racer finishes. Please feel free to bring along the family and friends!!

Are the wave categories/times posted anywhere?
Thanks
Is the bike course 14 miles, or 12+ as indicated on the online map??
Jim
The swim waves are as follows: 7:00, 7:03, 7:06, 7:09, 7:12, and 7:15. The first 3 are male, next 2 female, and finally relays.
As for the bike course….we like to keep you guessing
No really, it is closer to 13 miles.
Thanks
